Yes or No to Mercedes Benz's optional goods and services

Would you pay thousands of dollars for optional goods and services?

Premium Protection Package:
  • Paint Protection
  • Fabric, Vinyl and Leather Protection
  • Rental Car Reimbursement
7 years for $1250.00

First Class Wheel and Tire Protection Package:
  • Replaces any damaged wheel(s) and/or tire(s)
5 years for $1295.00

Addtional 2 more years/100,000 miles service (for used cars)
An additional 2 more years/100,000 miles service to current used car's warranty.
$2695.00

Are any of these optional goods and services necessary or worth it?

No, no and no do NOT take any of it! This practice should be illegal. It is a borderline scam.

Yes , yes , go for it because the MB is unlike any other and deserves to be treated
as such. Besides, how often in your life will you be buying a sparkling brand new MB ?

Doesn't someone else have to pay for the coffee ?

The only one of those three I can see of being some benefit is the warranty extension. If it is a legitimate factory MB warranty, you should be fine. If it is aftermarket, buyer beware. The price on that does not sound unreasonable, but you have to consider what class of Mercedes it covers. AMG and 600-series would most likely be higher.

NONE of the things you mention are sold by Mercedes Benz.

They are ALL dealer gimmicks.

He is mixing some real stuff with insurance.
Paint and interior protection is worth some money.
Coming to insurance part, I don't even carry accident and comprehensive insurance.
They are total waste of money for my family.
