HI.. new member from cornwall

Hi.. I live in west cornwall and I am on hunt for info on 112cdi X reg.
I am doing some service work for a friend that runs his as a taxi.

Have just done the N/S front wheel bearing, C/V joint and boots... also O/S boots.

I was amazed at the high torque setting for the hub/driveshaft nut.. why so high ??? This is truck territory..

It was meant to be be a simple N/S outer boot and O/S inner boot change..but noticed N/S bearings were badly worn ...then when undoing the hub nut...realised the previous mechanic had crossed threaded it ..

So had to change a perfectly good C/V joint due to damaged thread and nut.

I advised him to change all boots at same time due to the issues with hub nut and fact I had it all apart anyway. So they are all new now....

He was over the moon and went to portsmouth and back with no more problems...

Got home yesterday...then went to work and last night noticed smoke from under bonnet and a ticking noise. He popped rounds today and looks like a leaking well worn injector.
If I'm correct these need a SPECIAL tool to remove once you finally get to them... any advice will be great.. as I'm sure these injectors run at £300- each... as best to replace as a set...it will most likely mean the end of his motor.....

Hi , I'm also from cornwall , I have to do a inner boot on my 108cdi how tight is the hub nut supposed to be? any advice on this job would be great , is n/s hub left hand tread ? / best way to change the boot.

as for injectors i did seals on mine with no special tools just a lot of rocking around the bolts that hold them down are stretch bolts i got bolts & seals from merc at tresillisn for a £5
but some one had already snapped 2 bolts so ended up using shorter ones but its still holding. hope this helps
