Live in Johannesburg, South Africa.
I built a Merc 190e 2.3 8v, turbo charged, with a reiger body kit. I spray painted it with the Ford ST orange. It is the first 190e done up her in SA.
I would like to differ on a friendly note, we (Sybie Coetzee and I) have built a 190E 2.3 Turbo conversion early in 2006, boosting 0.6bar and its still running today. I'm from Springs, South Africa.
Eddie Venter from Fast.Eddie did some more tweaking and upgrades, now:
T3/4 Turbo, running 1.1bar boost, air-air inter cooler.
Stock internals, dropped compression to 8:1.
Using ARP head stud kit
Haltech ECU, walbro fuel pump
Custom built exhaust manifold, and injector rail, oem intake manifold and valve body.
Making 228.4 kW @ 5500rpm and 517.5Nm @ 5000 rpm on the wheels, on normal ulp95.
Did the conversion with 306 000 kms on the clock, now at 380 000kms. Used as daily driver, nothing stripped out and exterior stock standard.
Due to the torque destroying the 5 speed box, we fitted a 6 speed box from a C230 Kompressor, and also modified the flywheel with weights, to give more clamping force.
Head gasket was blown and now fitting a copper gasket with o-ring grooves cut in the block and head.
