ABS problems?

Alright so lately I've been driving around a Mercedes Benz E320 and the ABS has been funky.
Whenever I'm waiting at a red light, the ABS starts vibrating and you can feel it. The car also says that I need to change my brakes, so I take it to my uncle who is an expert with cars and he changes my brakes.
However, it STILL shows that I need to change my brakes AND lately the screen's been going on a red alert saying that there's a reducing brake effect or distance or whatever.
My uncle thinks it's a problem with the ABS, what do you guys think?

I am new to the forums so I may be wrong, I am just getting to learn about all the tricks. There are ways to reset certain warning messages so chances are your uncle should have reset the code for the brake pads maybe? Dont hold me too it!

Welcome to the forum.
Brake pads sensor is just a wire inside the pad, that at certain thickness touches the rotor shortening the circuit. Either your expert didn't replace the pads, or you have wire shorten somewhere.
ABS might malfunction with old fluid. I had it myself on 10-years old car and others reported it as well. Would help to know your model year and mileage. That's what the profile is for.

The car could also be a W211 with SBC brakes where the expert did not deactivate SBC before the brake pad job. Useless to start guessing a lot before the most obvious background has been given. I guess older E-class models can have a red cluster warning about brake power too?
