Installing HID bulbs INSTEAD of a HID kid

i have searched and searched and searched but have not really been able to find a straight answer. i am assuming my buddys lease on a 06 clk 350. he doesnt have the upgraded lights (that purplish look). i am so confused with all the lights - HID, xenon, hella, phillips. all i want to do is make them a blue or a purple tint. the car is a lease so i cant really be installing too many crazy things. ive seen "hid kits" that comes with all these wirings and this box looking thing you have to install somewhere. cant i just buy high quality ( not those cheap japanese ones) bulbs and install them no questions asked? i understand the output may not be as good but what are my options here

u need a direct plug-in hid kit , plugs directly in your harness , u can take it off after, the light bulbs that u are mentioning without a hid ballast are terrible , well good luck

Really blue and especially purple lights are hated these days, considered cheap. Look up HIDs on YouTube to see what I mean. I had blue rainbow H7 bulbs in my CLK (I'm a girl), they are now back in the box. I just bought a HID kit on eBay, but have yet to install it.

I put 6000k bulbs in my SLKs factory HID Xenons, love them, its only slightly blue (factory bulbs are 4500K). You want 12000 -20000K temps, the higher the number, the bluer your light and the worse off you'll be trying to see in the dark (imagine a purple flashlight). YouTube will teach you.

You can't just plug in xenon HID bulbs into a halogen socket and its going to somehow work. You need an HID kit for HID lights. They take a massive amount of power to start the bulb, then almost nothing after that. Halogen bulbs take almost a constant amount of power. HID's also require a different headlamp reflector or a projector to aim them correctly, otherwise you will blind all other drivers.
