Am I entitled to a spare key?
I am in the process of buying a used Merc. I was told it came with two keys. Later on I was told the second key is on it's way as it was still with the previous owner. Now I am told there is no spare key.
My buying decision was based on many factors, the spare key being one of them.
I phoned my local MB dealer and was quoted £194 for a key. Why should I pay that for a key that I was promised in the first place.
I am in the UK. I have not taken delivery of the car yet. Do you think I am within my rights to demand a second key? I am paying full asking price for the vehicle but the dealer knocked down my part ex vehicle twice because he said he'd need to get something repaired on it.
I have signed the finance agreement but have not signed any contract of sale. I'm sure once I accept the vehicle then my chances of a spare key will me much reduced.
