Is it just me, or do mercedes and other euro car drivers...
Have any of you guys noticed how people driving benzes and other luxury euro sedans in general rarely use their turn signals when changing lanes? I mean I have seen this so many times, and it is quite funny how this is so. I own a european car, but I always use my turn signal. I don't see how not using your turn signal while driving a slick benz or BMW makes other people think you're cool. just my 2 cents...

Some think it is automatic like most other things on the car.

I ALWAYS use turn signals. And I grew up in Europe.
Than it is not using the signals that bothers me with other drivers. It is cutting me out on fast line 15 mph below speed limit.
I always use turn signal too and I live in Europe. And safety belt. In many countries from Europe, especially in the east, people don’t use turn signal or safety belt. And I do not know why. Convenience? Unconsciousness? I do not know.
I grew up in Europe too so using a turn signal is second nature to me. What you are noticing is just typical bad American driving unfortunately
Here are some other things you will notice here more often than not....
1. Left lane drivers. Particularly those that feel that because they are doing the speed limit it is their god given right to stay in the left lane no matter what. Some of these people are so bad that State Troopers with lights flashing, sirens blasting, have to drive around them.
2. When two lanes are reduced to one (sometimes because of a traffic accident) nobody seems to understand the concept of staggered entry. Basically letting one car in the right lane go, then a car in the left lane goes, then a car in the right lane goes, and so on and so on. Instead everyone tries to bully their way into the lane. Like its some kind of competition.
3. My personal fave! Stopping dead on a merge ramp while trying to merge. This particular behavior is also linked to the ones who won't let a person merge, like its some kind of game called "lets see if we can prevent this car from merging and make them run right off the road or stop dead."

And as horrible as all that sounds we all know its true. Living in this section of Florida with its retirement community I see that every day...
The worst is your #2 in Chicago... I gre up there and Chicago is in a constant state of repair.... The jockeying for position is hilarious. Rudeness rules the day. People honking behind you when there is no where to go....
I even had the pleasure of having a gun pointed at me for voicing my objection to the jerkoff driving on the shoulder to screw everyone else who was waiting to go..

We have daily chuckle with those situations. Coming from the freeway to our house, the double line, 45 mph highway narrows to single line 30 mph street. "Normal" picture is, that the guys who drive 35 mph on fast line on the highway, seeing the road narrowing speed up and try to force somebody off the road. I love driving that stretch with my Superduty flatbed.
"Go ahead, make my day"
Depending on where you live in Cali it doesn't matter anyways since it seems half the population doesn't know what they are for anyways. People will signal right then merge left or just simply drive for miles forgetting they are blinking
