E320 Radio and CD changer problem

About 9 months ago the CD changer in my 2000 E320 stopped working. The message on the radio display was No Magazine; however, the radio was operational. This past January, I took the car for a tune up and right after they disconnected the battery and reconnected it the entire system stopped working.

I would appreciate if anyone can tell me whether the system can be salvaged or should I change the main system and CD changer all together.

Thanks much for your Help

Regards

M.

Some people have had luck with cleaning their CD changers (blowing them out with compressed air was some guy's solution) but I can't remember if they had the No Magazine error beforehand. Try the search function and you ahould find all kinds of info on those. I have no idea about your radio.

A bit more info about the car would help too. Does it have Comand or another head unit. Does it have Sound system premium audio?

You don't mention that you checked all the fuses, also the one at the HU rear panel.

Is the HU completely dead, not just silent? Sounds more like a power issue and the CD changer issue would be independent from this.
