help me with color - is this capri blue\dark amethyst\tanzanite blue ???

Hi, I am looking to buy a clk200K

The car is described by the seller as Dark Amethyst. Factory standard.

I dont understand. When I had a look at it... it looks purple in the sun.

Does anyone know what it is... and whether it looks more purple or dark blue.

Easiest way would be to find the color code on the B-pillar on the driver's side.

Ditto to asianml. Look for a 3 digit code and post it here, someone will know what the code designates.

You just reminded me - if it's Capri Blue then the code should be 359. That CLK might be C359. The C merely indicates that it has the ceramic clearcoat.

Capri Blue and Tanzanite Blue are the same color. Just different name for the American market. It's hard to judge by pictures alone. Under halogen/incandescent or sunrise or sundown lighting it can look a little purple-ish. Under fluorescent or normal sunny lighting it will look blue.

It's a nice color.

Exactly. The easiest way would be to find the color code. And stop being so confused. Remember, a Merz it's a Merz irrespective of colour.
