I'm quite sure it doesn't change any acceleration figures at all. 155 not fast enough for you?

yeah its plenty fast enough lol but just wanted to find this out as if you chip the car to remove the limiter it should improve bhp 0-60 acceleration etc.......same as my subaru, limited to 110mph chiped it up and went from normal 0-60 of 5.2 seconds to 5.0 flat and took it to an impresive 163mph so basically my question is........HOW do you deristrict the e55? is it through chipping the ECU?

Removing the speed limiter and remapping the ECU aren't the same thing.

I went thru the issue with MBUSA few years ago. They gave me a lot of BS about tire ratings and state speed limits, but from what I was able to check, there must be some unpublished federal law requiring limiters on all cars. Most cars have them in 100-110 mph range, so 155 ain't bad.
So following arguments with MBUSA I asked what I can do if I take the truck with me to other country where limits don't exist. They send me to aftermarket chip company.

actually its a German Green party agreement I believe that none of the major manufactures will make a car that can go faster than 155 MPH.

I would think the best way to get around this is get an aftermarket ECU. Also make sure your tires are rated higher than 155.
