While I could possibly fall asleep driving it, the Solara is a MUCH better car then the Secrap. There is no question about that.

I have a Camry so I'm biased but I've always thought the Solaras were nice looking convertibles. To my eye, they look better than the Lexus SC series rag tops. Even Consumer Reports who generally loves Lexus gave those a thumbs-down. I think Porsche Boxters look good but those Audi TTs remind me of Volkswagens. Then there are the BMW Z3 and Z4 series. Those look good but I've heard owning BMW in general is a high maintenance proposition.

Solara looks okay but kinda low perf. Audi TT's are derived from a Golf (VW) chassis which explains a lot. Boxsters share a lot of parts and almost entire safety structure with Carerras, therefore they are a relative bargain in the Porsche product lineup, IMHO.
Having driven many Boxters I have come to loathe them. They drive like crap.
Do they drive like crap when they are stock? I bought mine already modified (lowered and techart suspension upgrades) . Mine handles like its on rails. I love it. Great car for Florida. Bargain for the amount of fun they are. ALso - while mine only has about 23k now I have had absolutely no problems and have owned it since about 12k so its reliable as far as I know..

I've never looked at them that closely, but don't they offer at least the Toyota 3.5 V6 in those? I don't have the HP/Torque figures in front of me, but that would seem like enough engine to push that chassis down the road.
Haha, yeah, that certainly explains and/or amplifies what I said about the TTs.
I agree about the Boxters. I have casually looked at a Carrera S and those darn things are somewhere around $100,000! I think a nice Boxter can be had for 1/2 the money.
Thanks for the additional info.
