is it alright to put regular gas on a 04 ml350? thanks

Suggest you do a search. What does the owner's manual call for? Use that.

All Mercedes I know of require 91 (R+M/2) octane.

I think the 380SL and maybe another model or two in the 80's called for regular gas and of course there are a few that require diesel.
