Years ago with handheld GPS I had a situation when it locked in with about 200 miles error. It corrected the error few seconds later, giving me average speed in thousands ...
I am using GPS from about 8 years and used freeway markers to calibrates my speeds and odometer in the past. All Chevys I owned would show 70 mph, while actually going 65. MB are pretty accurate, having just +- a mile in different speed sectors.
Our old Volvo was showing about 4 mph less, than actually going. Police radar and court confirmed.
