Not possible to use the DVD. The address ranging is considered a time saver. On street segments that are a block or less long, the system doesn't request an address number. Hope that helps, I think your Nav is far superior...but nothing beats google maps on a cell phone.

If you had to generalize, what are the demographics of the "typical" new Mercedes buyer in the Valley?

Age
Sex
Profession
Previous MB Owner

What other car model or market segment do MB salespeople have the hardest time competing against?

Thanks.

That's easy. We sell vehicles to people from all walks of life and backgrounds. The one overwhelming characteristic they share in common is intelligence. Smart people buy Mercedes-Benz, plain and simple. They understand that their hard-earned money is well spent with the company that invented the automobile, and pioneered most, if not all of the common safety/performance features available on cars today. You may be interested to know that Mercedes-Benz makes more money from licensing their patents than they do from manufacturing and selling vehicles. When you buy a Mercedes-Benz you are doing your part to further the industry, and in bringing these innovations to the general car-buying public.

As for competing brands, we are consistently out-sold by BMW which makes an exciting product with lots of gee-wiz gadgetry. Their vehicles tend to be more performance oriented, and offer an exhilarating experience behind the wheel during an otherwise bland commute. Their cars are more responsive to touch, tend to be lighter, and make it around the track a tick faster. Still, nothing matches the elegance of the Three-Pointed Star, and that symbol is the second most recognized brand in the world behind Coca-Cola. The old phrase, "BMW backwards stands for 'Want Me a Benz'" holds true at every stoplight. The Beemer owner can't help but look, and Germans in BMWs accept the cultural norm of yielding on the Autobahn to a Mercedes-Benz.

Spoken like a true salesperson.

There are some interesting demographic on consumers of Mercedes products.

The top brands with the highest household incomes were:

Porsche: $187,705
Mercedes-Benz: $162,824
Audi: $153,746
followed by
Jaguar: $150,587
BMW: $148,992
Lexus: $141,355

The median new Mercedes sedan or SUV buyer is gender neutral in his mid to late 40's. The core C-Class demographic is 45-50 yrs old, but slightly younger for the "Sport" editions; suburban and likely their first luxury car while the E-Class demographic is older, likely married with an income over $150K. Roadsters like the SLK or SL skew towards males with higher incomes. While the ML is gender neutral, the Gwagen is overwhelmingly a man's car.

'Bout 6% at full sticker. How much profit do you make in your business? My guess is more than that.
