I'm shopping for an inexpensive 2004+ 4matic wagon. I've been told to stick with 2007 and later because bugs of the earlier model 211s were worked out by 2007. Is there really anything significant that changed between the 2006 e350 and the 2007 e350?

This thread looks like some Benz Salesmen have really helped a few fellas. So I will keep asking:

What packages do I need in a 211 wagon to get:
- power liftgate
- heated front seats
- driver side memory settings (seats and mirrors)
- Wood Steering wheel (lower priority than above items)

I'm trying to refine my search based on some of these features.

Are there any reasons (other than the obvious MPG & purchase price difference) to look for/buy a 2wd instead of 4matic?

Considering a 2008 S 550

I alreadh have two E class sedans and love them. I am considering an S class, but want some advice as to the implications of the high mileage on this car, and long-term expectations i should have.

The car has 50 k in just less than 2 years of driving. But it is certified, and fully reconditioned, new brakes and tires, and seems clean. It will have 1 year of the certified warranty, but 50k seems like a lot of mileage.

Should I sweat the high mileage? I know these cars are built to last, but have never owned an S and don't want a long term care issue by buying a car that has been driven hard.

What due dilligence should I do or is reasonable on the car? What should I know that I may not. The dealer has been very forthright in our previous two purchases from them. But I don't know what I don't know.

Advice? Suggestions?

Thanks - The Jett

I can only tell you one thing for sure: I rather buy a car that has been driven all te time than has sit n a garage forever. Many parts get bad just by sitting around rather from driving.

And if the owner was responsible then 50k miles is nothing. It's what he did to the car not the miles he drove.
