Ummm. Well, since I'm not a tech I really can't help you there. I would take it down to your dealer and see. Good luck!

Exclamation mercedes price policy?

I have two question about the price policy of mercedes benz; The price of S class in USA is much much cheaper than the price of S class in Dubai. for instance the S550 starts at about $117k and it reaches up to $140k in Dubai when it is fully loaded. the AMG S65 starts at $270k. FYI the custom are 5% of the total price of the car + there is no tax. So why there is difference in the price that it is much cheaper to me to buy a S class from USA & get it imported from USA to Dubai than buy it from the approved mercedes dealership in Dubai by at least $35k up to $150k(in s65)?

In my opinion the mercedes prices in Dubai are unrealistic, for example I bought my 2008 s350 by $117k with AMG kit, Guess how much did they offer to me when I want to trade it with other car with the same dealer; they offered me $64K, which means I lost 45% of the value of my car within 11 months only! & nobody offered me more than that??! & that is my second question; what is the percentage that mercedes car losses per year? FYI the S350 is the most popular mercedes in Dubai + MSPR for S350 $110

hopefully you would be the first one who answered my question

Is there anything about Dubai that's realistic?

To all the people making jokes about towing and plows etc, people in Europe tow trailers with Mercedes sedans all the time. My car even has a fuse or two marked for a towing wiring harness. I really don't know why MBUSA considers all cars sold here unsuitable for towing.

Ouch! 45% would be more typical over 3 years here. But maybe in Dubai it has something to do with the economic downturn and collapse of oil prices?

It's not the cars, it's that MBUSA doesn't trust American drivers not to fuck their cars up beyond all belief and reason, trying to tow the QE2 with a C300.

Its pretty simple. They could do what Subaru does and give a weight limit (in the case of my Impreza, 2000 lbs) and various warnings about handling etc. And of course MB SUVs are rated for towing. There has to be more to why the cars are not.
