Statememt of Compliance

Trying to get my faithfull unimog into New Zealand and i need a Statement of Compliance for it which is a doc listing all the ECE regs of my unimog.

Does anyone one know either the info needed on the form and someone that can sign it at MB or just the info so i can get the right persons to sign it.

MB in AUS and NZ can not give me info and will not sign it. A very sad state of affairs!

Vehicle details are as follows:

Unimog U1750L

1991 / Yellow

Vin: WDB 4371131W169344

A point of contact at MB germany who would be prepared to help me with this would be great.

Many Thanks

I don't know about New Zealand but usually these come from the the local official MB importer. Not so good for one importing a vehicle as an individual but the official importer isn't too interested about that.

When we ship vehicles from the US into Canada, our "compliance" is merely our providing a printout (from the Mfr.) that there are no 'open campaigns' or recalls outstanding.

Perhaps the local MB dealership in NZ can look up your vin and provide you with this. Don't ask them to sign anything, just provide proof of ownership. Welcome to New Zealand Mercedes-Benz Heavy Commercial Vechicles Website

I spoke to a fellow 'kiwi' and he suggests "contacting AA or the Motor Vehicle Registration" for further details.

Importing motor vehicles into New Zealand

Best of luck,

I'm based in Japan and have sent many vehicles to NZ (I'm originally from NZ) and have no trouble doing the paperwork myself. At which point are you being held up? Getting the car off the wharf, customs or getting your initial compliance at a testing station?

Where did the car come from originally?
