fix the Code p0410 with SeaFoam?

I am trying to find a way to fix the secondary air injection problem making the Eng. lit to come on. All units, valves tubes been checked. I have been asked to use seafoam cleaning agent before tearing the engine apart. has that worked for anyone? I have a 96 S500 coupe with about 93000mi. is it safe? would it work? Please advise. Thanks.

I don't know if SeaFoam will solve your air injection problem, but I have seen a few members recommend it for MBs so I think it's safe for you to use.

I've done Seafoam on my ML. It improved the engine idle and tick, almost all gone, but I don't know if it'll get rid of your code either.

Where are you guys buying it? I've never seen it at AutoZone or Advanced Auto Parts. There is a Pep Boys in another town where my girlfriend lives but I've never looked for it there. We have a NAPA here, but I've never looked for it there either. I'm sure I can find it online somewhere, but I'm just curious.

Thanks to you all. I bought the seafoam from autozone in dallas. I'll add it to the tank anyway, but I continue waiting for someone who has experinced it to clear the code. Is the only way to clean the engine ports is to take the engine apart?

Thanks AsianML. I have never seen a Carquest here and as I mentioned I never looked at NAPA (a bit out of the way is why). The last time I looked our Advanced and AutoZone didn't carry it. LOL, I guess I can always "let my fingers do the walking" as you did.

BTW, I bet you're not old enough to remember that Bell Yellow Pages ad!!

The Seafoam treatment...

for clearing the air injection passages on the M119 engine that is posted on the Internet goes beyond just putting the Seafoam in the fuel tank, it includes putting it into the oil/crankcase and pulling a small vacuum line for direct injection into the intake manifold...

Reportedly it works, IF the carbon deposits in the air passages in the heads are not too hardened; however, sometimes there is no option but to remove the heads and sandblast the deposits out. Expensive, to say the least.

I wish you luck,

JR

Thanks. I hate to do it myself and go wrong. I have to find someone brave to do it for me. What I do not undersatand is why should a $100,000 MBZ have a carbon built up after only 93,000 mi. I have always used the super 93 gas.
