Not a good reflection on the MB brand. Let us know the outcome.

Seeing as you have decided to...

go back to the selling dealer, you really should put some heat on the dealer that turned you away...

Contact MB for one. Raise hell. Then, if one of your local TV stations has a consumer advocate as a part of the news or community interest programming, contact that person. I am sure the local dealer would be just thrilled with a TV segment entitled:

Think you bought a luxury car? Well, welcome to the "bum's rush"

... Mercedes dealer who could not come through on an order, then refuses service on a car purchased from a dealer who could..

Good luck, and please don't let this drop. Dealers too need to be put in their place once in a while...

Well, just thought I'd update you on the whole incident of my dealership problem. After calling MB, they pretty much washed their hands of the whole deal. They said that each dealer is an independent business and they have no control over them. Of course they called the dealer and I got a condescending letter from the dealer saying that they can refuse any non warranty service, but feel free to bring in your car for warranty service and that I'd be eligible for courtesy van service (they always gave me a C-class loaner)...

I guess it just goes to show that maybe you shouldn't expect quality no matter the price you pay... such a disappointment.

I don't mean to rub salt here, but the quality went a long time ago.

Cool What a bunch of..

Little BRATS you are.

'Momy, momy, the other kids are picking on me', geeeez.

You saved a few pennies by going smewhere else, now deal with it!

Dealers make there money selling cars, next time you buy a car that should be a consideration.

I had an unfortunate experience with a car I bought from one dealership (15 miles away). I traded their car for what I have now to a dealer 50 miles away and they treat me like a king. If they ever drop the ball, there is another dealer 100 miles from here.

+1 (except for the blatant spelling errors) You wasted everyone's time, they have families too, you know. Why, specifically, didn't you buy the car from your local dealer, why not give them a chance to match the selling price? Unless they were absolutely inept (which I doubt) they should have been able to get the same car for you and you could have avoided all of this.

FOR THE RECORD: My dealership, being Penske owned and publicly traded, would never treat anyone this way, but personally as a salesman primarily responsible to a saint of a wife and two kids, I would be upset.

i dont buy this story. i work for a dealer and have never heard of someone being turned down for service. it doesnt matter if you bought the car there or in europe, we still do any and all work. the only time i have seen people turned down or told to leave is when they cause problems. other then that, service work is highly welcomed. whether warranty or customer pay.

There are arrogant dealers out there, I purchased a car in Chicago, and two in Florida. When I took the one from up north in for service, a revice rep informed me they only provide loaners for cars they sell. After looking for the service manager, I demanded to see the general manager, and my salesman. I got a loaner, never had a problem since, service rep is gone.
I would call MB again and relay the story and send a copy of the letter , They are independent, can not refuse to service your car for warranty issues, but decline for post warranty work. BTW they can charge what they want for parts and labor. I wonder how they handle "Road -Aid" a free for life service on any MB.
As far as MRsmiths comments, "get a Brain" you could work for that dealership.

that's right. talk to the manager.

it doesn't matter if the car is grey vehicle or bought from africa. it deserves the same treatment since it carries the mercedes star.
