Hello, all. I ordered the two CD model 124 service manual "library" from MB several months ago. For supposedly being a genuine MB service manual, I have found it to be quite useless at times. More often than not, a certain maitenance or repair procedure references a prior procedure number that must be completed first - many of which are nowhere to be found on the CD. The CD version is by no means the complete scan of the original service manual, as many sections are missing.
Does anybody know where I can locate the entire printed copy of whatever manual they scanned to make the CD? All I seem to be able to locate is a Bently "124 owner's bible" which I doubt is the same as a true factory MB service manual.
The paper manuals are VERY hard to find. Mercedes' print shop over in Germany burned down and that pretty much coincides with the shift to electronic copies of the older, formerly printed manuals.

I don't think it's all that common that the prerequisite job is not there - sometimes hard to find though. You don't say what car you have, but if a 4, 5 or 6 cylinder, the Haynes manual is very good. Always a good idea to tell us what car you have. For most jobs the real Bible would be just about as helpful as the 124 bible.

Thanks for the reply. Car is a 93 300E 2.8. I need to replace the A/C condenser, which the CD manual claims requires removal of the radiator first. It references a certain procedure number to refer to first (supposed to be in the cooling system / radiator section) for radiator removal instructions, but it isn't there. I doesn't look overly complicated, but that's about the 5th time I've run into that problem with the CD manual. Like I said, looks straightforward, but I like to do things "by the book" in an effort not to break anything and/or take off anything I don't have to. Looks like the engine fan shroud might come out first, giving me clearance to remove the radiator next - or maybe they come out together as a unit? Case in point....
