AAAutoWarranty anyone?

Hey
My C class comes off warranty at the end of the month and I wanted to purchase after market warranty. I found AAAutoWarranty online for a decent price ($2450 for 48 months 50K miles) for their platinum package. See link for details : AA Auto Warranty – Extended Warranty Plans from the top Vehicle Warranty Providers

Has anyone used this company or heard anything bad about them?

cheers,

Q

Have you priced MB, it seems they (AAA) will pay All data and Mitchell rates, I dont think MB subsribes to that. My experience is that unless you get factory supported extended warrany, you could get hosed or shortchanged. Many of these companies fail and try to unserpay. There are a lot of "failure of lubricated internal parts clauses"

+1 with Peter. If you are still under the MB factory (new car or CPO) you can probably extend it with Daimler. That way, any MB dealer in the USA will honor it. At least check with them for availability and price. Some people on here have said these are negotiable too, so it's definitely worth a look.

Most of the 3rd party warranties are pure rip-offs and you'll never collect on them.
I had to go to court with the dealership manager and service tech with all 3 of us fighting against the extended warranty company.
We did win, but what a mess and added stress for the 2 years it took to settle our claim.
If you want an extended warranty then go with the MB one.

Bummer about the 3rd party warranty on the MB. I've only had 1 car with a 3rd party extended warranty (on a Porsche Boxster, warranty was sold and car serviced by same Porsche dealership) and had no problems.

MB-SV, that's a good point that I forgot about. If it's an MB dealer selling the aftermarket warranty, at least they will be able to deal with them.

I would not get lured into "if it is sold by MB" they will deal with it. I purchased a brand new Eldorado for my wife, and wanted the extended warranty added to it. The finance manager assured me The aftermarket warranty was better, when I heeded it the company had folded, and the dealership just shrugged.

Please keep in mind that an extended warranty is nothing more than an insurance policy and in the grand scheme of things, the insurance company always wins. I'd suggest putting your $2500 into a savings account and using it to pay for needed repairs. I have never purchased an extended warranty on anything, probably never will and have never had a car where I would have needed it. Sure you'll hear from a few people who say that it paid for itself, but the VAST majority lose the gamble.
