While i'm still leaning more toward the speeders on this one. Ya gotta admit this may be one of those topics we have to agree to disagree on. I mean really it's more like regardless of good or bad driver sometimes ya lucky and sometimes "sh%@ happens.
I tend to lean towards speeders as well. You'll sometimes find me in the 75-80 range on some of the freeways around here, but it's definitely tuned for the conditions and moving with the faster traffic (and not faster than it). Particularly for our OP to get caught that many times in that short amount of time, it's not "bad luck", it's habitual speeding that is tending to ignore the conditions.
They're right, something like 90% of the people speed at one time or another (they do surveys and studies on this stuff from time to time and what amazes me is that 10% of the people never speed, that seems way too high.
). At any rate, if 90% of the people speed, the fact remains that 90% of the people don't get a ticket. So that tells you that either our OP speeds MUCH more than other folks or that his speed exceeds that of the other speeders -- or both.
All that to say that in my experience, when someone gets THAT defensive about something, somewhere their psyche knows they're wrong and they are just feebly trying to justify their actions. It's all part of the "victim mentality" and an inability to own up to what they have done.
Take care and enjoy the ride,
