Don't know about CA - but in IL 3 tickets in a year = no driving for three months.
Good lawyer wouldn't get you out of tickets - but he will talk to prosecutor and will reduce sentence - to something like seatbelt violation - you'll still have to pay, but will keep your license.

Most judges are power trip ass holes and the traffic laws here in this country are a joke, for people who don't know how to drive and also do not understand that driving is a privilege. I have no advice for you other than to get a good lawyer.

They need to build a damn autobahn in this country that connects NW, SW, NE, and SE with no speed limits!

Okay, I know I have a locquacious bent, but did anyone actually read what I posted?

Let me spell it out a bit more clearly:

GOING TO COURT IS SUICIDE, and even more so without an attorney (but every attorney would tell you this has to be negotiated out, don't go to court, period). The Judge will indeed take all of your recent activity into account, hence the "enhancement" reference above. And yes, this is run by State DMV, so even if the counties were hundreds of miles apart the court will have access to your entire record.

If YOU try to negotiate with the prosecutor(s) they probably will not even talk with you -- or if they do you won't get much of a deal, if any at all.

If you HIRE AN ATTORNEY s/he will be able to negotiate effectively and you might even get to keep your license. Ideally you might get to dump one to traffic school, plead to one and get fined and points, and for the third, get fined with a deferral pending completion of traffic school and NO OTHER VIOLATIONS for a set time period. (That's really the best-case scenario unless the funds that bought the car can buy a really good attorney.)

Take care and enjoy the ride,

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. (Winston Churchill)

Awww... let him smack talk about all the rotten attorneys or listen to the bubbleheads. Darwin will remove him from the driving pool.

What if I do Written Declaration...will I be able to go see a judge if i'm found guilty???

Also...what if I do them at separate times? The first time i'll get traffic school....(if I plead guilty). The 2nd time I can plead not guilty and try to beat it...(both in O.C.); and the 3rd one I have to go to a Riverside court house anyways if I do go to court and that one I can plead not guilty....but I ideally will do a written declaration for all 3 but at separate times so then the judge won't have to see all 3 together. If I haven't been found guilty of anything he won't see all 3 on my record at the time! Correct. IF I do traffic school for the first one then he won't even see that on the record...

These aren’t the same jerks I share the freeway with on my normal commute are they? Were talking about importing higher grade idiots, right? Regardless, the rules are going to have to be changed. Here’s a short list of what ought to be considered before letting the public drive at 100+:
  • No smoking. Before the smokers go nuts, I just want people at triple digit speeds to have their hands on the wheel and looking where they’re going. Not glancing at the ash tray, not taking a "quick glimpse" at the cigarette lighter, or allowing nit wits to light a match (which takes both hands) while traveling over 146 feet per second.
  • If the entertainment controls (radio/CD) aren’t on the steering wheel, “der boomin boxen” isn’t fiddled with. Besides, exactly how much entertainment is required at 100+?
  • No talking on the phone.
  • Ban all consumables. No drinks, no six dollar burgers, and no fries. That’s right, spilling hot coffee on one’s lap & dumping coke on the shifter electronics at speed is a privilege, not a right. Eat at home.
  • In addition, cars are going to have to be inspected. Those with cut and/or heated spring kits, bald tires, tires that have been patched (lowering the speed rating to zip), substandard e-bay brake kits, and roof spoilers that are held in place by double sided tape have all got to go.
  • We're going to need a REAL DRIVING TEST. The standard multiple guess test and 8 minute drive down an abandoned street isn't going to cut it.
  • Blinkers. Use them, then turn them the <expletive deleted> off.
Just so I don't COMPLETELY hijack the thread, rather than using the high speed highway, those with multiple tickets in a short period of time can ride the bus. It may sound cruel, but you won't be alone. Those drivers with Chinese made, ebay-HIDs that use reflector bulbs in a projector housing; they get restricted, day time only, driving permits. At night, they can ride the bus too.

In retrospect, Bensin's idea is good, and it can work, but only if we stop the USA-bahn before the California border. And Chicago will have to be bypassed. Upstate NY is OK, but NYC and ALL OF JERSEY is out. New Orleans too. Arizona Snow Birds are out too (AZ residents should have the right license plate). Texas is definitely IN.

There is a reason for three tickets in a short time. The operator is standing out from the crowd in a bad way.

We've all seen these vehicles careening down the highway, wishing a cop were around to pull 'em over. It sounds like they hit the mark here.

There is nothing wrong with operating a vehicle in excess of speed limits, if it's done responsibly.

First, slow down. Then, start to drive better. Motorist education doesn't hurt either. Maybe that will part of the penalty phase. If not, enroll in a motorcycle course. The classroom section is valuable for two or four wheels.
