Ok, couple questions i've always wondered. What does factory trained mean? trained at mb training center? trained at dealer? trained in germany? trained in alabama?

how do you go about doing this? pay for classes? apply for mechanics job? apply for classes? start work, become apprentice, get recommended for training?

How's it compare to ASE?

Hi MASTERBENZ,
I have a late 2005 C350, WDC203056.... engine M272960...
I intend to keep the car for many years as it is my "last car", my retirement present to me :-)).

I notice from other posts that the M271 enginge has a leaking oil from camshafts problem, as well as the PCV hose.

Do you know of any (similar) issues I am likely to face at high mileages?

Many thanks

David

Hello Mar.. here's one for you...

Hello Mar, greetings from ther UK, here's one for you..

when I slow down to idle in my 91 300CE 24v, as i get to about 5mph and below, the revs drop down to about 300rpm, but immediately come back to about 750rpm once the car is stationary, being held on the foot brake. When I release the brake and the car starts to creep forward, the revs drop again down to about 300, almost stalling, until I push the accelerator and get up speed. When trying to paralell park with full lock on the steering the problem is worse and sometimes the engine will over compensate and quickly rev to about 1500 rpm, as if you had dabbed the accelerator, making the car lurch forwards or backwards, which is a bit hairy when you are trying to park. I have noticed that very occasionally the ABS warning light will illuminate, and when it does the idle problem dissappears immediately, and when the ABS light goes off, the problem returns immediately.
I have had the idle-control valve cleaned and checked and the OVP relay replaced with no improvement whatsoever... can you make any sensible suggestions of what to check next????

My driver seat module had some work done on it because it was drawing amps from the battery. After which, though not immediately, the SRS light came on and has been on for quite sometime. I had this work done in St. Louis. I don't wanna drive all the way back out there to get them to look it over. Is there something i can check into myself before taking it back to a dealer workshop?

Interresting...

Masterbenz, or Mar of Mars, on 03-22-2008 makes a post offering to help others with their MB questions and touts his repair business along the way...

Half a dozen questions get posted, none of the promised answers are proffered. Then a new member comes along and on his first post raves about Mar/Mars.

Call me a cynic, but I suspect that this was an marketing effort and nothing more. Did you take a course in marketing when you got that MBA, Mar?
