I wasn't aware that a car had back headlights? Don't tint them. It looks terrible and most likely illegal and also very dangerous.

STICKERCITY.COM :: Bulk Film :: Headlight Protection Sheets & Rolls (Light Smoke, Medium Smoke, Dark Smoke, Iron, Blue, Yellow, Clear) :: Cut To Fit Sheets :: 24" x 30" UNIVERSAL HEADLIGHT or TAILLIGHT KIT

They dont make one specifically for your auto so that is a universal kit. I would check with your local laws first as tinting tailights is illegal in most states...

Hey, netsfan, welcome to the forum. Please take a minute to complete your BW online profile re: vehicle and location. Also, you posted in the general forum (which is fine) but you can find lots of more specific information in the W202 forum, just scroll down into the sedan section and you'll see the forum dedicated to your C class.

Jtbeche did a great DIY on tinting taillights, he did it on his CLK but of course it's the same thing on other models. Here's the link: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w208...ar-lights.html

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

ALso - as I understand it - the sticker style Joe and I recommended is removable (not re-usable) and you wont have to buy new tailights if the law comes down on you. Just remove the sticker

Just curious why the law would come down on him? So long as he doesn't go darker than the AMG tail lights then they're legal.

On the other hand, aside from being more expensive the sticker does have the benefit of being reversible, although I'm sure getting the adhesive off is as much fun as it is with window film.

I am unaware of specific laws regarding tinting the tailights but i have heard its illegal in some places. Mr xpowerseller said something about the legality as well. I was just pointing out that IF he got into trouble with the law he would not need to replace the tailights. Ho could simply remove the film..

Not that I want to preach, but this is a fact:

To alter any lighting on a motor vehicle placed by the manufacturer is against Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations.

If you should be rear-ended and cause injury, you could and likely will be liable. Keep this in mind before you decide to change anything. Putting the public at risk because of your wanting to change the appearance of your car could be argued to be selfish. Just something to ponder.

I guess as a former fire captain and rescue technician that's pulled too many bodies from wreckage, I'm a bit bias. Sorry.

I've never read or heard of any cop enforcing a law (if it exists) against blacked out tail lights or tinted ones. I could understand a law against completely blacked out tail lights but tinted ones is ridiculous.
