I prefer the differing seasons, And don't fancy living with the constant threat of a devastating earthquake. (Swings & roundabouts some would say.) Plus I love the roads & scenery & the fact I can travel across europe experiencing so many countries & cultures. Could live without the rust though. I foolishly though MB would have sorted the rust issues by the turn of the century, they had long enough!!!!

Each place has its pros and cons, unfortunately.

The W210 suffered mainly from new materials, equally as quite a few other car brands at that time. Unfortunately it took some time for all of the car manufacturers to realise the issue.

They cannot use the same stuff that was invented when your previous MB was built. Also I doubt any car survives absolutely well Scotland (or my place). Even aluminium has issues if the car is not serviced well.

Yea, but why Scotland? Although it sounds like a great place to spend summer.

I've not locked my car were I live in 15 years! I once accidentally left the sliding door of a people carrier I had open with the keys in the ignition,(Overnight) and in the morning found the keys posted through the letter box and the door slid shut ,(Cause it had been raining I presume)And I've got many tales like this but are too boring for you really cool people to listen too. I originally come from a "metropolis" in England & have no wish to return! wonderful pace of life, great amenities,FREE health care, football & rugby matches abound,no guns, clean air, fantastic tap water!,our own parliament, beautiful seasons, wonderful country parks, the list goes on & on...(Bit like me I hear you say!) I have family & friends all around the world,Australia,HongKong,US,Italy,Spain...& I prefer it here. And people love visiting us over & over again(And 2 of them have moved just 4~5 miles down the road from us). Well is that reason enough

Spent a little while in HK,(Got extended family there)Found a great place to eat where the local students ate & it only cost us the equivalent of around £4 sterling for a good meal for two, was gonna nip over to mainland China but couldn't be bothered with the hassle with the visa /paperwork just for a visit, did have a stop over in Bangkok, but that's about as near as I got to your place.
