c220 1996, heater control unit lights

The lights are all out on this unit. Are they replaceable or does the whole unit need replacing?

Bulbs can be changed but it depends on your A/C option how it is done. A few more details would help.

it is the standard climate control unit for the 96 c220.
None of the buttons light up.

You might find a guide with pictures from the W202 section. You can pull off the rotating control knobs and find a bulb at the centre. I have not done it on a W202 but on some old cars the plastics may have stuck from heat, hope those get off easily from your car.
