Brake Pads

I want to replace the brake pads on my 2000 320 E
Before I go to work I wanted to ask if there is anything weird I will see in there or is there anything to be careful with.

One more quick question as long as I'm on here:

The cover to the cup holder doesn't always close and latch.
I think the grease in the latch is old and thick so I want to spray some WD 40 in there but, I can't find the latch. Can someone post a picture or schematic?

If you go to the W210 subforum (covers your model) you'll see a 'sticky' post at the top for DIY. There you'll find detailed info on replacing brake pads as well as many other maintenance/repair items.

What kind of pads are you going to use? I was going with a set of Rotex Gold to cut down on the brake dust. Brake World has them and as I recall they were around 120 bucks for the fronts and rears. A project for summer.

I don't know what they are. I went into the auto parts store and told them what kind of car I have and they gave me the pads. They were about 60.00 for the front and they had to order the back.

After reading how to change the pads I went to the dealer and bought new sensors and the goop to put on the back of the pads.

I still need to fix the door to the drink holder in the center consol if anybody knows where the latch is.
