Free MB Roadside Assistance for the life of the car

Many of you may already know this but I only recently learned of all the benefits of their Roadside Assistance program, especially the forever-free services they provide for us.

It is a well-known fact that Mercedes-Benz automobiles are made to last. An amazing 75% of all Mercedes sold in the United States in the last 50 years are still on the road. What is not as well-known, is the long-term support available to all Mercedes-Benz owners long after the new car smell is gone. This is where their Roadside Assistance program comes in.

What I didn't realize was that every Mercedes-Benz in the U.S. - no matter how old, how many miles it's logged or how many owners it's had - qualifies for Roadside Assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There are three services offered at no charge. Unlimited jump starts – Unlimited tire changes (when you have a viable spare) – Unlimited gas runs if you should run out.

There are many other features to their Roadside Assistance program, but it is these last three free services that surprised me. I thought you might be interested. Here is the full story:

Mercedes-Benz USA, Mercedes Care, Client Care, Roadside Assistance

Jayhawk, they will also tow your car to the closest MB Dealer Shop if it breaks down for free, but you have to agree to get it fixed there and the $75 dollar towing is free.

I'm not so sure that the "free" towing isn't a dealer by dealer thing.

That could easily be the case. The availablility of loaners is left up to the dealer's discretion as well.

I know that is correct, but I suspect it is a dealer option for out-of-warranty cars, and Sly's dealer apparently provides that option.

MB roadside assistance doesn't drive tow trucks. Most of them use ML.
Supposable in some areas with low MB presence they contract other companies, that might arrive with tow truck.
Just because something sounds good, doesn't mean it really is. I have triple roadside assistance in Bay Area, what is road patrols driving tow trucks, my insurance sending actual tow truck and MB assistance driving ML and not even having basic tools to diagnose Mercedes. The listed order is the order I would call them.
Who has 2 hr to wait for the MB dispatcher 2000 miles away to figure out how to send somebody with a gas can?

Does this program extend to Canadian drivers while travelling in the U.S.? Or does the owner have to have a U.S. address?
