2007 C230 Sport...Good Price?

My wife and I are considering a 2007 C230 Sport with the power package. It has all the standard trimmings as well, of course. It's also a certified pre-owned, which adds some value. Silver w/ black leather, 7 spd auto/manual. The dealer is asking 29k. It seems like a fair price to me...but what do you guys think?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Smile Get a c300 - 2008

I would get a 2008 C300 sport or luxury model for $33-34K.
It is a total complete much better car.

For that price the mileage should be under 10K miles and condition excellent, otherwise price is a bit high. Supply is plentiful of the 07's and demand is low.

The C230 is 7 year old design that was replaced by a significantly better vehicle in 2008, therefore rapid depreciation will continue in the next cuople of years. I just had a C230 loaner for a week and it's a very different car from the new C300.

forgot to mention milage...14,500 miles. It was a dealer loaner. But otherwise it is in excellent condition. So 29k is a bit high, huh? What would be an appropriate price? I've checked edmunds, and they priced it at around 29,800. CarsDirect didn't have any info.

Dealer loaner is not a plus, they are treated poorly like rental cars. Mileage is a bit high. Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book are a little out of step on used luxury car prices these days. I'd look for another car otherwise don't pay over $26K. There's no shortage of these 07 cars (CPO) to choose from.

RE: 2007 C230 Sport...Good Price?

I agree that an '07 C230 Sport w/premium package and 15k miles should sell in the $26-27k range. This should include a CPO warranty from Mercedes.

I disagree with the comment about the dealer loaners being treated "like crap". They are in better shape than an owners in that nobody "moves in" and they are driven by Mercedes owners. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Make it easy on yourself!

Buying the car at $26k is a good deal. Be prepared to pay up to $26,500 w/CPO.

It's much easier than you think. Go to the dealer and tell him you have a reasonable offer to make and thet you are ready to buy.

Next sit firm and in good humor and they will come around. The dealer will take any deal they can on the last days of the month.

Good luck!
