I went to see the car today and "it's in the shop". I asked what for and apparently it would not pass emissions, it needed a catalytic converter. He said he didn't know when it would come back from the shop but it would be a while, like a day or two, and then the price would go up.
I did drive another Benz he had, an 88 560sel. I was not impressed at all with this particular car.
If these cars are supposed to be more powerful than my 740i the one I drove must have major problems. It idled and moved fine on it's own but when I stomped on the gas to see how it would go I was not impressed. My BMW would have smoked this car. My daughhter, who has driven my 740 quite regularly, was also not impressed.
Overall it was not a bad car but I was a little let down at both the dealership and the performance of this particular Mercedes. Needless to say, I did not buy it.
And by the way dahappybananna, I have seen many responsible teenagers driving around and I do my best to let them know they are doing good. I have seen way more adults in the ER doing stupid stuff than teenagers. I think if parents would become responsible and teach their kids how to be responsible there would be a lot less poor driving accidents. We have allowed to much stuff to get in the way of driving. My BMW came factory without cup holders because the Germans take driving much more seriously than we do. Maybe the cell phone using, blue tooth using, Starbucks drinking, irrate, road hog needs to get off the highway so those of us that enjoy driving for what it is can go back to enjoying driving without having to watch for the other crazies driving.
