Windshiled Washer Fluid Specification

Hi guys!

Does anyone have any knowledge of the windshield washer fluid specification? I am checking just to be sure. I know that is seems pretty open and shut, but I was wondering if anyone has actually asked the question. The reason I ask is because of my knowledge of simple soaps and other types of cleaner agents actually breaking down coatings on other surfaces.

Just wondering if MB has some secret formulation or anything that will prevent breakdown on the molecular level of the surface coatings on the windshield glass.

Or if at least that is their story and they are sticking to it!

Sometimes my head hurts when I think about these things.

Well, in fact, Mb does have an additive (of course) for the washer fluid called:

"Summer Fit"- Windshield washer concentrate.40ml (1.34 oz.)
MB part #A 001 986 80 71 14.

Hope this helps your aching head.

I have a vial of another one:

Windshield-washer-concentrate S

A 001 986 19 71 16

40ml = 1.34 fluid ounce

Summer mixture: 1 bottle + 1 US-gal of water (drinking water quality). To be mixed with Windshield-washer concentrate W only.

Contains: 15-30% of anionic and nonionic tensides as well as additives.

[QUOTE=TNTRower;2637343]Hi guys!

Does anyone have any knowledge of the windshield washer fluid specification?

I use RainX Bug Cleaner Windshield in 1 Gallon Size.
I am also known to go on the wildside and use RV Windshield Washer Fluid.
I've never had any known degradation in Windshield, Rubber or Metals which came into contact with Retail Fluid.
