Need a good mechanic referral for Denver, CO area

I live in Lakewood, CO, and I am looking for a mechanic referral in the Lakewood/Denver area. I would like to have suspenison work done on a 2002 CLK 430 that I just purchased (new coils, shocks, etc.). Unfortunately, I only know mechanics in the area who do 4x4 work.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. There is a W208 CLK section here, where CLK specific questions will get a lot more responses. In southern California, most 4x4 shops can swap CLK springs. They're a pretty straightforward swap. Anyone can do the shocks. They are dead simple. Which springs are you going with? H&R? Eibach? Euro-spec CLK55? US spec CLK55? or. . . . .

RE: springs

Thanks for the tip. I may call a buddy at Hillside 4x4 here in Denver.

I am consiering the Vogtland Sport Suspension Kit. I don't really have a need for adjustable coilovers, so either the Vogtland kit or HRE springs and Bilsteins should suit my needs. Any thoughts?

I don't have any experience with the Vogtland springs. I've seen others on the forum write about them. I think Bilsteins are very good.

I used Autoworks Colorado in Littleton for many years and recommend them highly. Mark and his staff are great and only work on German cars.

I spoke with Autoworks Colorado by e-mail. Mark thought he would rob me given that I have a benz - he quoted 8-9 hours to change coil springs and shocks. Sure, I'll pay $750+ for the job.

I'll never contact those people again. If you've had a good experience with them, then good on you. Thanks anyway.
