You went to a dealer. What do you expect? Have you lived under a rock for the past 20 years or what?

In regard to "repairs", it's been my experience that dealers run diagnostics and replace subsystems. Occasionally, they replace individual "parts". This is a bit different than the type of "repair" a DIY type may make.

I'm a DIY type. If I knew my speaker was blown, I wouldn't ask a dealer to take a look at it. "Take a look" means "get a technician to run diagnostics". The technician researched the problem and decided if he replaces your speaker and three other parts (which sounds like a subsystem to me), the buzzing noise will stop. As a DIY'r, I'd simply change the speaker.

The same is true of your climate control display. It "sounds" like a light failed. However, it also sounds like the dealer doesn't disassemble HVAC displays and change bulbs. They replace that particular subsystem. You may wish to pull the HVAC display, disassemble it, identify and replace the failing part, and reinstall it. Alternatively, you could price a new/rebuilt HVAC and replace it yourself.

The downside to this is, not everyone can fix their car or find a GOOD independant. For those people, the dealer is a lot cheaper alternative to having an ill informed shade tree who charges half as much, but breaks a number of other items along the way.
