Video

We just shot a video over the weekend for cleaning tail lights...use the same procedure for headlights:

YouTube - Restoring Tail Lights with SYSTEM ONE Polish

If you have the bandwidth, higher quality versions of this video can be found here:

SYSTEM ONE Testimonials, Videos and Before and After Pictures

Again, you don't need a dedicated polish for plastic.

Here's a long but very effective way to restore your headlights. Here's the link Now scroll down to GA models and "Headlamp Reconditioning Process". It's very detailed and gives great results as you will see.

This will not restore headlights, but, like West Coast float-plane windows, if you clean them with Lemon Pledge they will not scratch from other abrasive cleaners and they will last longer. Also, Mirror Glaze plastic polish (where McGuires got their start) is a more aggressive but occasional-use cleaner that will make them last longer too.

But it did restore those badly damaged plastic lens and the results were fantastic, then the lemon Pledge to help continue the protection.

I've used metal polish (Brasso) on minor plastic hazing.

If it's bad and you want a quick fix,rub over with fine steel wool and then spray a few thin coats of acrylic lacquer.PS,I'm not used car dealer LOL.

OK we finally got a donor vehicle with bad headlights, so we shot a video today.

Two minutes and 30 seconds to do one headlight.

A couple of suggestions

3M makes and excellent plastic cleaner, about 8 bucks a bottle. Can be found at auto and boat supply places or on their web site. Most recently we purchased a Porter Cable buffer. That with a bit of Meguiars Plast X or Scratch X cleans them right up to the point the sparkle. Either way works.
