I went to MB and bought the new filter that came with the new oil rings, and I bought a new crush washer I paid $27.91 US for all. I also bought the Mobile 1 full syn from Discount Auto parts for $19.88 plus tax a gallon I bought 2 jugs the car uses 7.9 US qt. when I was at Discount auto I looked at the oil filter and you are right it was made of paper. I in the process of changing the oil now and I'm impressed MB does really think of everything. I love how detailed the car is put together.

Even the oil pan is not a normail stamp steel pan like I have seen on other cars. I do have one question. the new filter came with 4 oil rings, I see where I use 3 of them but I can not find where ti use the 4th oil ring. I'm thinking this is a universal oil filter kit for all MB and my C240 does not use this 4 oil ring can you help? I'm going to write a doc with pictures on to change the oil. thanks for your help.
