Complete newbie looking

Thanks in advance for any advice. I have been a user of BBs for RV'ing, sports and other things for years but now I found something new...

Anyway, I am looking at a 1985 280 SEL (grey market) with 47,000 on the od. Owner (neighbor) has all records. Other than questionable A/C (was converted to R134 18 month ago), it looks and drives like almost new. Asking $6,500. Seems high but also seems like worth negotiating over.

I've read about the AC conversion, suspension issues, grey market issues, but nothing has scared me away yet. Any advice is appreciated. Dog Dawg.

Hey Dog and welcome!
You may want to post the exact same post on the w126 forum, which is very active and has many members that have some fantastic experience and knowledge regarding the W126 (that should be your chasis type for your future 280 SEL).
