Components of Scheduled Service

Hi guys!

I have done some searching around here and can not seem to find what I am looking for. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am looking for a specific list of what goes into the various scheduled services. I do not see a list in my owner's manual or service book. It just says "Service A" or "Service B" with boxes for check marking.

I am a DIY guy who really enjoys the maintenance as well as satisfaction of self sufficiency. That being said I still have a passion for "doing it right." I know that there are little things like lubricating door hinges etc. that go into these scheduled services. Ideally anyone have a copy of the dealer instructions?

My lovely is a 1998 E320 Wagon. I just bought it about 2 weeks ago and have fallen madly in love with. My wife refers to it as "La otra mujer." But she says it with a smile.

Anyway, can someone please point me in the right direction? I am looking for something as detailed as possible that I can just put into a spreadsheet format and use. If I can find the right info I will be sure and post it as a file as well. Yes I know that my type A personality and retentiveness can be viewed as a disease or disability sometimes.

Thanks!

Drew

a service.
test drive car
inspect all interior safty comp(lights, wiper, signal
oil and filter change
top all fluids in the engine compartment
inspection of all engine comp
set tire pressure
check front and rear pads and rotors/ includes specs in report
check all front end components
check all exaust and rear end comp.
torque all wheels
reset service light avarage cost 175-250

b service- includes all of the above. with a short test/diag test
wipers, dust filter, air filter, rotate/balance tires(with road force)
avarage cost 300-500 depending on dealer.

being a tech i would say an a service is a expensive oil change.
but the one i would do every year is a B service. if your dealer does all of the above i would get it done once a year. if you add up all the cost of each item its alot cheaper then getting them done seperate. once again though it all depends on where you are and where you go.
