M-B auto salvage yard??

Has anyone come across any auto salvage yard that has a lot of Mercedes parts? I'm in the market for a replacement horn (low freq). In the good-old-days I'd just wander down to the local auto yard and unbolt one from maybe a roll-over, or something similar. Any leads would be appreciated.

Depends on the year. I used to be frequent visitor to junk yard, that claims to be the biggest in the World in Hayward, CA.
Plenty of luxury cars more than 10 years old, or much younger American brands.
Had no problem to find parts for my W123 when I had one. Presently I can find some parts, that are the same in older cars, as well in mine W210 (window regulator sliders).
For parts on newer models you have to go to dismantlers. In CA they usually charge 50% of dealers price. Sometimes just better to order new at Douval in FL.

MBZ parts and recyclers, Northern California

These folks will respond within a day, or possibly sooner:

Used Mercedes Benz and Porsche parts from Silver Star Recycling

Marshall will respond within a day:

Silver Star Dismantlers-Mercedes Repair,Parts,Service,Salvage

The yard in Hayward is a do-it-yourself pick-and-pull yard.

If you're up for a little drive go to Victory Auto Wreckers. They're in Bensenville just a little past O'Hare.

Victory Auto Wreckers

I've pretty much found everything I need for my W126 there. Or go to
Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts, Resources and Car Care Tips
really cheap and the OEM parts are new.

1961 Chevy Impala Bubbletop (restored) - SOLD
2000 Mercedes E320
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but the wise so full of doubts.
