Lost & Confused

Today in my 98 c230 I went for an approx. 250km drive after I arrived home I parked the car, and about 30 mins later I started the car and headed out right as I pushed on the accelerator the car slowed down and started to kind of sputter and the check engine light came on, but the car didn't totally die. I turned off the car and turned it back on, and everything was fine as if nothing had happened, but the check engine light was still on. I drove to my friends house and turned off the car, turned it back on and the engine linght was still on, went for a 20 min drive, came back turned car off for 10 mins and the when i turned it back on the engine light is gone! the cars sounds fine & it is driving great. I just need to know what couldve caused that to happen? and if it is something that i should check into. help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It could be several things, like bad sensor, bad fuel, clogged filter.
Since you didn't read the codes before they clear, now we can only guess.
I am betting $2 on dirt on MAF sensor.

Hey, oj. Again, welcome to the forum.

For future reference, please don't triple (or even double) post in the forum, all three of your duplicated posts have responses.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
