Re-sealing of diesel pump OM 605?
I post this in the general forum, since the engine can be found in several chassies. (In this case it is in a W124.)
OK, I need to change the diesel gaskets and seals in the fuel pump on a OM 605.911, something that I have done several times
before. The problem is, that is now some years since I did it, and I can not remember if there any special tools requiered to do it.
The pump is the in-line type, where each pump element is screwed in from above. The elements have splines on the circumference,
and small locking plates are used to fix the positions of the elements to the pump housing, so that they do not unscrew.
The question is if I need a special "splines-tool" to unscrew the pump elements and change the O-ring and washer in it?
Answers are greatly appreciated!
