I bought a used 2000 CLK430 almost two years ago, and it had a bent wheel ... saw it for myself when I tried to balance it after installing new tires. I could see the wheel wobble while spinning on the balancing machine. I didn't go to the dealer though because they aren't cooperative in providing good communications. If I go to the dealer here to get a repair some guy in a suit takes my keys and calls me when it's done, but I have no idea what went on in between.
That sounds like what's happened to you. The dealer told you your wheels are bent, but you didn't see it for yourself. Maybe you're wondering how bent are the wheels? Are they both bent? Is that what's causing the shaking? Etc...
I guess my point here is don't forget about other options. You could go to another shop and have them test the wheel and tell them you'd like to see for yourself because you're having the wheel shake problem. Or, you could even jack the car up yourself if you're comfortable with that, and spin the wheel while it's still on the car.
Also, other things could cause wheel shake too, such as bad shocks, worn tie-rod ends, or other worn suspension parts.
