Question Wiring '04 E320 Wagon to pull trailer

I have a '04 E320 4matic wagon w/31K mi. and 1 yr. of factory warranty left. I bought a used '04 Aliner folding fiberglass camping trailer that weighs 1300 lbs. Last week I bought a hitch from etrailer.com and U-Haul installed it. It looks great, only the 1 1/4" square shows (where you put the receiver end in)- all the rest is underneath the bumper cover. Now the problem: U-Haul and another local (Palm Springs, CA area) RV servicer could not figure how to do the trailer wiring. Both places worked on it for hours, both could get the wiring to provide trailer lights and turn signals, but no brake lights. I now have no trailer wiring.

I had to pickup the Aliner trailer in central NM this weekend. We drove there and pulled the trailer back home with no lights (no lectures) with no problems- daylight driving- all interstate. Lots of power, 22 MPG at 63 MPH, 700 miles.

I called our local MZB dealer 9/12, and they say no kit is available for my car re: wiring to pull a trailer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do or where to go to get my wagon wired to pull this trailer?

I'm at my wits end! Many thanks!!

Buy from Europe, MB OEM or some after market one. Don't know if your plug is the same, if not, should not be difficult to change.

Otherwise you would need to build an interface that does not draw current from the bulb lines, to avoid malfunction messages.
