Instrument Cluster

Hello:
I own a '97 E320 and the analog guages in the instrument cluster do not
work...Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel Level and Engine Temp.
Thankfully, the low fuel indicator light illuminates when the tank is running
low.
The digital functions all work fine...clock, odometer, etc.
The speedo and tach needles vibrate rapidly when the key is in the ON position and when the vehicle is running.
Can this be fixed?
If so, can I remove the instrument cluster without removing the steering wheel?
Any thoughts or advice would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks,
Kurt

The cluster can be removed by using pulling hooks, and usually lowering the steering wheel

Where do you recommend I get the pulling hooks, or can I make them from coat hangers? Where do I insert them, about 10 and 2 oclock?
Thanks for the info so far!

I have a Clk 98 I was able to pull out the cluster by placing my thumbs on the part of the dash right above the top of the cluster and using that as leverage while the tips of my other fingers were on the surface of the ceiling of the instrument cluster, grabbing tightly and pulling slowly. Then, doing the same thing on the bottom right, then left sides of the cluster. Slowly the entire unit came out, no damage. Hope it was clear enough, but not sure it will work on your car.
