Successfully, that is!
I've got as far as running PNADM, but the process just sits there forever doing nothing. (can't even kill it or log out - have to pull the power!)
Well Vista has problems that every new OS has. Getting it to work correctly on a new machine can be difficult and then not all the previous software, drivers and utilites work on it. I personally would recommend XP Pro to people now, but Vista will have its day.
Which WIS installation option did you choose? The one with PM comes with processes that you cannot kill from the XP interface either, or you may do it but they start automatically again.
Vista security enhancements may make WIS installation impossible if it was not specifically built Vista compatible first. If it allowed WIS, then the enhanced security might get compromised, not an expert with Vista at all though.
I'm running all this in the (real) Administrator account. I did try running "PM" in compatability mode (and with 'run as administrator' ticked for belt-and-braces), but it didn't improve things.
The installation was in wisinstl (or something) and it recommended installation of PM first.
Have just bought the PC, so went with Vista to be 'looking to the future'. I'd rather struggle with a clean install now than struggle with an upgrade later. Haven't had too many serious problems yet, though a few niggles which have needed some patience. I stick with XP on my desk at work, mind you - only use Vista when I have to (i.e. to test the drivers I write).
I do have VirtualPC somewhere, so I may try installing under an XP VM next. (I'd lose my printer, since its usb, but spose I could print to pdf and copy the file back to the real OS).
