I am 19 1st Mercedes Benz, after two Jeeps (srt8 gc and latter a commander overland) I cannot go back to American cars, let me rephrase that, only Mercedes and classic mopar muscle in my future garage. I've been in too many Mercedes, Caddilacs, BMW's, Audi's in my short life to count. I've driven too many also. 100% hands down Mercedes has them all beat, a close second would be BMW (3 years ago) not IMO Audi is number 2, BMW 3. I plan on owning quite a few Mercedes both new and classics, and not one is going to be sold. Esp the 1st one I'm keeping her till I die, even if she doesn't work its my first car that I bought. And so far not a penny in extraordinary maintenance (big ticket fixes, trans, heads, gaskets, etc.)

I have driven both Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes; my favorite of al those is the Porsche. I've had and raced several starting in 1965 with a little 356 and loved it. Not much power but it took finesse and skill to stay on the track with that little 100 hp 4 banger engine. From there to a 912 with a little more power and less oversteer, then to a 911 Carrera with lots of power and control. Now I drive a 1997 C-280 AMG and love it for old age scampering around north Idaho. I'd love to get a new Carrera S. The specs on that beast are:

Horsepower 385 hp
Torque @ rpm 310 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm
Top Track Speed 188 mph
0-60 mph 4.5 sec

Check it out at: 911 Carrera S - All 911 Models - Models - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG

But now that I'm older I wish I had a new MB C-380 AMG.

Take all that palaver for what it's worth.

I've owned Dodge, Jaguar, Porsche, Merkur (great cars despite what anyone may claim), Cadillac, and Mercedes-Benz. I will never be without a Mercedes-Benz for as long as I walk, or drive, this Earth. Without question, there truly is something palpable in the blood-line of these great cars. I'd like to try a Lotus or something more exotic at some point, but my daily driver will forever remain a Mercedes-Benz.

I would definitely buy another MB, however, I'm not sure that I would buy only MB.

Yes I would, I have a W209 CLK320 and love it, it's reliable, safe, comfortable, and stylish. This car is easy to drive, and fun to drive. Plus I feel like I got more for the money than other brands, and the dealerships really good.

But I do like BMWs too

I will too...even thought that might be only another 5 years...according to my cardiologist. But in the meantime I'm gonna live it up with my 1997 C-280.
