I love the SLK32, honestly, but having been a 12-year Lexus customer, the service at MB dealers is a huge let-down. You have to really, really love these cars to put up with this level of service (unless you buy new of course, which as others have said, is often a fool's errand).

Of course buy another MB. We've owned 14 Mercedes over the past 40-years. Although we've had an ML (Mercedes shouldn't build vehicles in Alabama) and a 190D (Mercedes shouldn't have built this car, the best Mercedes (build quality and longivity) are the 123 and 126 cars. Give up the newest, who can spend the most, by diesel's quieter than yours, cars and find a nice 300CD or 560CE - bring it to perfect and keep it the rest of your life. I've had my 300CD 23 years (new, right off the showroom floor in Dallas) and wouldn't consider driving anything else.

B Class -& everything from seized calipers, trim falling off the body, windshield wipers dieing, wind shield washer pump dieing, smart switch dieing

Although there has been absolutely nothing to leave it "dead" anywhere -

Also - some issues were two visits to fix - a better dealer may have been 1 .....

If first impressions are lasting, I'd definitely buy another benz.

even if I got burned for the first time, I would give MB another chance. something about the drivetrain, the power and comfy ride. Only car I can think that comes close in styling and comfort is Cadillac. everything else is a toss up.

Unless you plan on buying one, don't drive the CLK63. Once you've driven the 63, there’s no going back. Powerful doesn’t begin to describe the CLK63. The 55K should have been optional on the W208/W209 AMGs. MB has made amends. The CLK63 pulls like a 1990's sportbike. The CLK63 is Porsche nine-ninety-seven fast. Hide the women and children fast. Ray Charles once said, "ain’t nuthin better than sex". Pardon my diction but Ray ain't never drove no CLK63.

the 273 engine is an AMG engine in disguise. I drive these 550s and i feel like im in an e55. its a huge step up

If your talking about buying a CLK550 or CLK63 your talking money.

If you have the money to buy a CLK63 then buy one, its an amazing vehicle. I have a CLK550, its my second 500 series CLK and third MB over all. I have to say that the fit and finish of the CLK appeals greatly to me and Ive yet to find a suitable comparison. I have never had any major problems or headaches and don't expect to. If you're looking seriously at the 550...its a beast and up against other makes like Audi and Bmw in the same class it owns.

Probably not. I just can't get over how 'different' everything feels after the W124s. I know, but it's just a personal thing. 'Maybe' for a diesel in similar condiition. Therein lies the rub - for those of us lucky enough to have excellent used Benzes, can we ever be assured of having the same level of confidence in subsequent vehicles? Buy new? Can't. Buy used again? Probably not.
