If I drive normally and not so aggressively with only a few kickdown maneuvers and regular engine braking downshifts...I can get around 25 MPG since I can get about 100 miles from a 1/4 tank and my tanks is roughly 16 gallons.

First Post, I'm In...

Yea... I know I need to work on my signature and avatar to look professional like "use-skys". I've just been spending more time reading.

1999 C230,.............................. 30ish (highway)
1998 VW Beetle Tdi, manual... 49 mpg
1999 VW Beetle Tdi, manual... 50 mpg (wife drives it)
2001 VW Beetle Tdi, auto....... 40 mpg (son drives it)
2004 VW Beetle Tdi, DSG........ 44 mpg
1998 F250 Powerstroke.......... 15-19 mpg
1999 BMW R1100RT................. 32-50 mpg
1993 Hunter 33.5..................... 100+mpg (not bad for 12,000 lbs and 34')

I thought we needed a decent 4 door car to drive so I recently bought the C230. It was cheap, lady owned and came with all service records. I've already found myself looking at newer Mercedes. Naturally I would have rather had a Diesel MB but the cost kept me at bay.

If I have a Lead-foot my MPG precipitously falls! If at or below the posted Speed Limit I do quite well.

22.6 mpg last tank, 343 miles driven until the light came on. This 14 year old car continues to amaze me.

I get about 21, my wife, driving the same car on the same commute gets about 17. Hmmm. In her, I haven't checked. I had an 07 C230 loaner for a week and got about 23.

i'm lucky to get 20 mpg....(lot's of hills i guess)

plus i don't drive like an old lady ~ which seems to be the norm on here for people in w210's getting high 20's to low 30's.....

car IS only rated for 19/26....
