2000CLK 430

I've seen a couple of other postings regarding a vibration at idle while in drive. I have the same problem on a Clk with 130K. I don't believe it is transmission or torque converter. Does anyone have alternatives?

Greetings and welcome to Benzworld FUDDSMB!

You may get more response in the W208/CLK section, but I'll try to answer the question - in most cases, it's the motor mounts. Those are regular wear items. They age, crack, the fluid leaks out, and then the vibrations are transmitted to the chassis. The transmission mount will wear out eventually too.

If you're a DIY type, you can knock out the motor mounts on a Saturday morning. If you're a TII type (take it in), your mechanic can knock it out in a morning.

Hey, Fuddsmb.

I'll second Marcus' welcome, as well as his preliminary diagnosis. That's a fairly common issue and solution.

To parrot Marcus further, there is a forum specific to your car, it's the W208 forum, just scroll down the list and you'll see it. Lots of good folks and good information in there.

I guess the one thing I could add to Marcus' post: if you are a TII guy, your mechanic will knock it out in the morning and then knock you out with the bill.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
