European Mercs

Hello Everyone. I just got back from Europe, and during my trip, I hi-jacked our camera and used it for my own "purposes". I thought i might share them of the car oriented pics with you, even though a lot of you are europeans and you see this everyday.

This was just a glimpse taken out of our bus. I was excited that i actually got a pic of it. It was parked in front of a cafe right around the Effel Tower area. I think its eather a W198 or a W113.

Thanks for the pics Schm. Looks like a fun trip. Does that camara have a zoom lens? BTW, your attachments don't work.

Don't believe everything you think

Something odd, to me at least, with your second set of attached photos, cannot open them.

I don't think most here are from Europe, and not all Europeans visit Paris or Brussels (if you have friends there, better check the spelling, it also is Louvre, if you want Mona Lisa smile for you) frequently, some do.

Nice shots but I did not see the W211 taxi point. You consider that odd? Perhaps not all taxis in Paris are MBs but almost everywhere else most are. Some are W220 or W221, some are W203/S203 but most are W/S211.

Thanks for your replies.

Yes, I just got in a hurry with the spelling , and had to leave before I could get the attachments to work, but it works fine now.

About the taxis, indeed most are W211s, E220 CDI or W200Ks (small engine europe only models) with a smattering of Pugeots, VWs, BMWs and a few Toyotas and other random models thrown in. Depending on country, but indeed most are W211s. Im not sure what you are talking about, but i was just directing your attention to it, not that it was anything special.

Here are more pics.

Our Pair of Mercedes motorcoaches at Versailles. Actually, this was to the "Petit hameau," google that if you want) we had been to Versailles Palace the day before. Our coach was the one on the Left.

This amazed me a bit. Notice the black W221 on the right, then look carefully at the roof. You will see that this is a W221 Taxi.

W211 Taxi in downtown Geneva. Notice the absence of rear badgeing. A suprising amount of mercs had no rear badgeing.

This is infront of the Four Seasons in Geneva. You'll see the nice Mercedes Viano, but if you would direct your attention tward the rear of the picture you will see a red Ferrari which i think is eather a 599 or a 612.

My Fav, a beautiful view of the big fountian on Lake Geneva, and a really pretty older merc. I cant figure out which model, and if someone could give me a bit of help. I remember it being a 2-door, but that may be wrong. The CH sticker on it stands for Switzerland, or Confoederatio Helvetica, Helvican Confederation.

Debadging cars in Europe is pretty popular!!

Also the red Ferrari is a 599 GTB Fiorano. I think you're right about the 575 as well.

All pictures seem to work OK now. Nice selection of MBs, some "Europe only" models still left for your next trip Actually we should say "non-US" models, the cars that are not on sale in the US, are available almost everywhere else.

I see now that you actually visited quite a number of places, not only Paris and Brussels.
